Czechs want legalization of weed and are calling on the rest of Europe to do the same
Regulation of the market and decriminalization of recreational marijuana users - these were the topics discussed at a Prague meeting of European anti-drug coordinators. The meeting was organized under the Czech presidency of the EU.
"We hope that this will be a coordinated effort (to regulate the cannabis market). It's impossible not to talk about it across the EU. Prohibition has not been effective enough; we need to look for other models of control. A controlled market may be the only possible solution."
-Vobořil said.
Jindřich Vobořil is preparing a bill to regulate the cannabis market in the Czech Republic, which he plans to submit by the end of the year.
He also said that Germany, Luxembourg and the Netherlands are also planning changes. We wrote about this in the material "Historic legalization conference with Germany, the Netherlands, Luxembourg and Malta concluded with a joint statement."
However, there are also countries, such as France and Sweden, that oppose any changes going in the direction of liberalizing cannabis laws.
The trend of liberalizing laws and legalizing recreational cannabis is undeniably growing in Europe and around the world. Cannabis will soon be legal in our neighbors to the west and south. The legalization phenomenon is gaining momentum and growing like a snowball. How long can our politicians be blind to this?
