Vaporizers, so far, have not won the hearts of Polish smokers. So-called e-cigarettes are already more popular. First of all, they are cheaper. However, many ganja fans think that it is impossible to smoke Mary Jane in them. Nothing could be further from the truth. It can. All you need to do yourself is to make a liquid concentrate based on normal smoking stuff (you can also use it in some vaporizers, if you want). In a moment we will tell you step by step how to do it.
Recipe for homemade liquid marijuana concentrate
Preparing the liquid concentrate requires some work and time, but overall it is not difficult. You will need:
- propylene glycol (you can easily buy it on the Internet, it is best to choose one suitable for foodstuffs - its use is the safest for health. In the link you will find a picture that shows how such a thing looks like)
- approx. 6 grams of good quality ganja
- high-alcohol grain alcohol (preferably really strong - with a strength of 95% or similar)
- 2 medium-sized jars
- two small 5ml bottles
- gauze, preferably used for food products
- an oven with a baking sheet and aluminum foil
- a pot with a lid
The first step you need to take is to decarboxylate our weed so that THC-A turns into THC. It sounds corny, but this is a very simple process that "normally" happens in the process of smoking a joint. Here it has to be replaced somehow: we put aluminum foil on a baking sheet and spread the herb evenly over it and bake it (in a preheated oven) at about 110-120 ºC for 15 minutes. After removing, our Mary Jane should be ripe dry and slightly brown in places.
We put the decarboxylated ganja in a jar and pour in high-proof alcohol, so that it pours a little more than our stuff. We do not cap the jar. Instead, we take a pot and fill it with about 4 cm of water. Then we put our jar in it (this step protects us from igniting the alcohol, do not skip it! It's also a good idea to turn on the kitchen fan and/or open a window to provide fresh air).
We put our set on the stove and turn on the burner (for safety, it's better to do it on too low a flame than too high). The idea now is to boil off some of the alcohol slowly while stirring the herb in the jar the whole time. As a result of this process, the part of the alcohol that remains in the pot will strain the THC and other psychoactive components contained in the ganja.
It is necessary to vaporize enough alcohol so that the weed is no longer all immersed in it, while not vaporizing it almost completely. A sign that the alcohol has soaked up the THC and other components will be its noticeable darkening (the more grams of marijuana we used, the darker and more concentrated the liquid will be).
Once a sufficient amount of alcohol has been vaporized, pour a fresh dose of it into the jar - so that the ganja is again fully immersed in it (you can slightly more than the first time). The next step is to filter the product: take a gauze, cover the top of the second jar with it and strain our boiled ganja-alcohol concoction through the gauze. We boil the second jar and its contents in a pot of water (as we did with the first jar. However, be careful not to put the jar immediately into the hot water, as it may burst!).
Evaporate the alcohol a second time, until there is about 5 ml of liquid left in the jar. Then we add to it about 20 ml of propylene glycol (if we want we can dilute it with more). Our mixture should eventually take on a dark greenish-brownish color. Voila! Our concentrate is ready to use.
Once you have mastered the basics you will also be able to give your concentrate different flavors - combining it with other "decoctions". We've also included a couple of YouTube videos that show exactly how to make the thing (the recipes vary slightly in detail). If you're serious about preparing liquid marijuana concentrate for your e-cigarette/vaporizer, it's worth watching them all first in peace.
