New strains of medical cannabis will soon appear in Polish pharmacies. These will include two new products from Spectrum Therapeutics (Canopy Growth). Until now, unlike its competitors, the company has only had one product registered in Poland. This is now set to change, with two more types of dried products already registered and due to appear in pharmacies as early as April. Here's more information.
Two new medical cannabis strains from Spectrum Therapeutics available in April
So far, Spectrum Therapeutics (Canopy Growth) has introduced one product to Polish pharmacies - Red No.2. This was the first medical cannabis to hit our market. It is a dried product with a Sativa profile, meaning you can expect energetic effects. THC content is 19% (+- 10%) with CBD under 1%.
Unlike its competitors, Spectrum Therapeutics has so far not released a product with Indica-specific effects, nor one with a balanced ratio of THC to CBD.
This is now set to change, with two new Spectrum products with the following specifications appearing on pharmacy shelves in the second half of April:
- Cannabis flos, Canopy Growth THC 20%, CBD ≤ 0.5%.
- THC content: 20% +/-10%
- CBD content: less than or equal to 0.5%
- Characteristics: indica
- Cannabis flos, Canopy Growth THC 8%, CBD 7%
- THC content: 8% +/-10%
- CBD content: 7% +/-10%
- Characteristics: hybrid
As you can see from the parameters, the manufacturer has added two highly anticipated products, this has two main advantages for patients. Now two manufacturers have products with a similar spectrum of action, that is, indica, sativa and a variety with a balanced ratio of CBD to THC. The pplus of this situation is that when one manufacturer's product runs out - the other can be supported. This significantly increases the chance of maintaining continuity of therapy in the event of temporary unavailability of either product.
The second major plus is the price - the new products from Spectrum will be at the price of the popular "Red" (Red No 2), that is, slightly cheaper than the competitors' droughts.

Cannabis flos, Canopy Growth THC 8%, CBD 7%
This will be the second such balanced dry on our market (you can read about the first one HERE). Compared to classic dried medical cannabis where THC dominates, this one is definitely less psychotropic, meaning significantly less intoxicating. The second major difference is the larger spectrum of ailments it will help with - it's broader due to its content of not one active ingredient, but two - THC and CBD.
